Autumn’s Concerto

[2009] 下一站, 幸福 / Next Stop, Happiness

Ren Guang Xi (Vanness Wu), a cocky law student, seems to lead the perfect life. He’s the sole successor to a huge and famous business and a talented ice hockey player with good looks and charisma to boot. But in reality, his lonely life lacks joy, laughter and motivation. That is until he meets Liang Mu Cheng (Ady An), the new bento seller at his school canteen. Although orphaned at a young age, Mu Cheng does not let her past affect her and lives life with great passion and determination. A harmless bet brings the two together and Guang Xi slowly changes as Mu Cheng teaches him how to give and love.

The statement “can’t live without him, can’t live with him” exactly described the young couple’s short-lived marriage. They overcame tremendous obstacles to be together. Yet, their love was not enough to save their relationship from the stress of actually living together and his ex-girlfriend’s sabotage. So they got a divorce. But, separation only made them even more miserable. With their families and friends’ intervention, the couple decided to give each other a second chance.

Summer’s Desire

[2010] 泡沫之夏 / Pao Mo Zhi Xia

Yin Xia Mo (Barbie Xu) is a girl loved by two men. Luo Xi (Huang Xiao Ming) was an orphan who garnered fame and fortune with his infallible charisma. Even though others believed him to be kind and smart, he was really a cold, ruthless, and wicked man who manipulated others to get what he wanted. When he was introduced into Xia Mo’s family, he fooled everyone with his sweet words-except for Xia Mo, who only saw the con artist in him. Ou Chen (Peter Ho) is a rich heir whom everyone feared, and was extremely overprotective of his high school girlfriend, Xia Mo. When he found out that Luo Xi was living with her, he became extremely jealous. This started a chain of events, as both boys were in love with Xia Mo, but their love for her was so all-consuming that they started a war to have her. Five years ago, Luo Xi lost and was sent away to England. Yet, Ou Chen didn’t win as his action caused him to lose Xia Mo’s favor and his own memory. Five years later, they met again…

Meteor Garden

[2001] 流星花園 / Liu Xing Hua Yuan

A poor teenage girl named Shan Cai (Barbie Xu), who at the insistence of her parents attends Ying De University, a university exclusively for rich people. The university is dominated by Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan), Hua Ze Lei (Vic Zhou), Mei Zuo (Vanness Wu) and Xi Men (Ken Chu), four rich and handsome but arrogant students collectively known as F4, short for ‘Flower 4’. They are the heirs to the four richest and most influential families in Taiwan, and they donated a lot of money to the school so nobody dares to challenge them. F4 terrorizes the school by handing out red cards to those they do not like, which allows other students to bully the victims until they leave the school.

After one of Shan Cai’s friends receives the wrath of F4’s leader, Dao Ming Si, and receives a red card, Shan Cai stands up to Dao Ming Si and slaps him, which in turn results in a red card of her own. However, Shan Cai’s persistence in standing up for what is right gradually gains F4’s respect and Dao Ming Si falls in love with her. However, Shan Cai dislikes Dao Ming Si because of his constant torturing, and instead fall in love with Hua Ze Lei, who helped her when she was suffering. Can Dao Ming Si win Shan Cai’s love through his cold and cruel exterior? Will their love last when everyone is trying to break them up?

Devil Beside You

[2005] 惡魔在身邊 / E Mo Zai Shen Bian

Qi Yue (Rainie Yang) finally gained the courage to give Yuan Yi (Kingone Wang) her love letter. Yuan Yi didn’t see her handing him the note and walked passed her. Jiang Meng (Mike He), the troublemaker, nicknamed “the devil,” was the one who accepted her note. Qi Yue begged him to return the letter and told him that it wasn’t meant for him, but he didn’t listen. He wanted what he desired and that is Qi Yue. Even though he has a cruel appearance, Ah Meng is in fact very kind and caring, which touched Qi Yue. However, the big problem still remained – Ah Meng is the son of the man Qi Yue’s mother is going to marry. Even though they aren’t related by blood, what will happen when they become step siblings, how will it affect their relationship, and what happens when other lovers come into the picture? Find out by watching Devil Beside You, this drama will make you laugh, cry, and make your heart feel fuzzy.

KO One

[2005] 終極一班 / Zhong Ji Yi Ban

Zhong Ji Yi Ban is a class designed especially for the delinquents and rejects that other high schools would not accept. Even so, everyone in the class is loyal to the leader, Da Dong (KO.3) (Jiro Wang), and would die for his friends. Tied for #3, Ya Se (Calvin Chen), and #4, Xiao Yu (Aaron Yan) soon joins the class. Out of some fortuitous events, their lives become tied together and they become best buddies. Another student, Lei Ke Si (Danson Tang), who had been gone for a whole semester, rejoins the class. Although Lei Ke Si seems like a weak kid with only good intentions, Ya Se suspects he is KO.2 because legend say #1 and #2 are capable of concealing their true identities. At the same time, incidents start to occur and the culprit always leads to Ya Se. Is Ya Se wrongly accused? Will the class be able to resolve the conflicts or will it be driven apart

The X-Family

– Sequel to KO One

[2007] 终极一家 / Zhong Ji Yi Jia

Beside our own time-space, there are eleven other dimensions that exist side by side with Mojie, a dimension where evil resides. Mojie has taken over ten of these dimensions in a series of showdowns between good and evil. However, the inter-dimensional war for the Gold dimension resulted in a tie in which both Mojie forces and KO fighters suffered great damages. Now, the story continues in the Iron dimension where the outcome has yet to be decided.

Xiu (Chen De Xiu), was in charged of the mission to find the KO fighters’ alternate selves in the corresponding Iron dimension in order to restore their powers and turn the tide against the dark forces. His search leads him to a boy named Xia Tian, Wang Da Dong’s counterpart (Jiro Wang), who has the potential to become a savior of worlds, a Zhong Ji Tie Ke Ren.

Xia Tian’s incredible power is sealed away by a Feng Long Tie on his neck making him essentially a Ma Gua. Any attempt to use his power would awaken Gui Long, an evil entity in him. But, Gui Long is not the only obstacle Xia Tian has to overcome to become the Zhong Ji Tie Ke Ren. His family’s objections and his own lack of interest in becoming the savior of worlds are the others. However, his attitude begins to change after he meets a girl from his childhood, Han (Cai Han Cen). To save her life, he boldly goes into Mie to recover her soul. Then and there, he realizes he needs to become stronger so he could protect those he loves.

Although Xia Tian has the determination to become the Zhong Ji Tie Ke Ren, he must go through many more tests and trials that will break his bones and his heart before he could be the one.

[2005] 王子變青蛙 / Wang Zi Bian Qing Wa

Shan Jun Hao (Ming Dao), the CEO to a large hotel chain, is the stereotypical heir – spoiled, coldhearted, and ruthless. He meets Ye Tian Yu (Chen Qiao En), a schemer and after a series of events, Tian Yu “accidentally” runs Jun Hao over. Turns out, Jun Hao has lost all of his memories and became a kindhearted and loving person. Just when love is in the air, Jun Hao’s family came looking for him and he has a fiancée who loves and misses him. Some more “accidents” occurred, and Jun Hao lost all of his memories of Tian Yu and went back to being a spoiled heir. However, Tian Yu fights for their love even though Jun Hao thinks she is a lying schemer. Will Jun Hao remember his love for Tian Yu? Who will Jun Hao choose? And who is the person causing all the “accidents”?

The Magicians Of Love

[2006] 愛情魔髮師 / Ai Qing Mo Fa Shi

World-wide famous hair salon Neo-Image has just opened. The beautiful hairstyles of the three popular hairstylists (Artz, Richie and Fernando) attract huge crowds. At this time, an external official came to them for help. There was an event called “The Chinese Hairstyle Competition” and they have found a part-time working young female hair-dresser, Xiao Bei, to compete against the French stylist to help advertise the French Hair Products. As this competition will greatly affect the country’s status, the three guys decided to help. Later, they find talent in Xiao Bei and trick her into working for Neo-Image, since she refused to cooperate without a fight. One day, Xiao Bei is about to be hit by a car when Artz pushes her away and saves her life. He was wearing a jacket with the number 23 on it. When Xiao Bei saw Richie wearing the jacket and assumed that he was her savior, and she fell for him. However, Richie leads a dangerous life and he lives without knowing if he will have a “tomorrow” or not. Xiao Bei volunteers at a retirement home. A coincidence occurs involving Xiao Bei and Artz visiting his grandma Li Lian at the same time. Grandma Li Lian realizes that they are the perfect couple and convinces Artz into admitting his true feelings for her before it’s too late.

If you haven’t seen any of the above mentioned Taiwanese dramas, I highly recommend you watch them. These dramas all have a great plot as well as an awesome cast.

  1. Hi! I came across your blog while searching for a good taiwanese drama to watch. I see that you like Autumn Concerto and Meteor Garden. They’re definitely few of my favorites. So, besides those 2 which ONE is your most highly recommend drama to watch. (btw have you also seen ‘Material Queen’ and ‘Mars’? Those 4 are my all time favorites. Great blog btw!
